At Home Pet Therapy with

The companionship of a pet can be an invaluable tool bringing purpose and engagement for people of all ages, and especially for seniors. Spending time with a pet is a powerful way to combat loneliness and isolation, bringing comfort and companionship while reducing stress and promoting overall health and wellness.
Studies show that just fifteen minutes spent bonding with an animal promotes hormonal changes within the brain. Stress levels drop as the brain produces serotonin (the “feel-good” hormone), along with prolactin and oxytocin. This is why therapy animals are good companions for seniors, because they offer so many amazing health benefits.
“Sunny Dog” is Endeavor Senior In-Home Care’s very own Soft Coat Wheaten Terrier, and is a fully licensed pet therapy dog! Wheatens originally come from Ireland, and are somewhat rare in the United States. They were bred over two hundred years ago to be an all-purpose farm dog whose duties included herding, watching and guarding livestock, and vermin hunting. They are the perfect emotional support dog for our caregiving clients because of their temperament, and because they are completely hypoallergenic.
Sunny Dog was born in 2016 on a large Cattle Ranch in Southern Arizona owned by one of the top Wheaten breeders in the West! He has been professionally trained and is an Arizona Licensed Pet Therapy Dog, so he can go anywhere we take him. Our In-Home caregiving clients love the unique experience of having a visit from Sunny to brighten their day.
What do our Senior Care clients love about Sunny Dog? He’ll lay next to you, on your bed with you, or on your feet for as long as you’ll have him, while Nancy (Pet Therapy Director/Owner) listens to your life stories! Nancy and Sunny always bring joy into the lives of our home care clients.
